If you have seen the George Clooney starrer by the same name, you would understand why I selected the name for this post…In the months of July and August, I was up there in the clouds more times than I care for. If you have seen the movie, you would remember that George Clooney’s character had a similar work schedule. So, I could really relate to the situation.
These shots were taken while I was returning from one such trip to Guwahati. I always had the (wrong) impression that taking photographs on flight was not permitted, so, it was with much diffidence that I asked the air-hostess for permission to take out my camera, and she was absolutely prompt in providing her stamp of approval! These are some of the shots.. Btw, the river in the shots is the mighty Brahmaputra…Hope you like them!
I intend to follow up with some more posts from my visits to the North-Eastern part of India, which I believe, is breathtakingly beautiful, and sadly under-appreciated. I love going back to that part of the world.
I have recently created a Facebook page, by the same name. If you feel like it and wish to follow my photographs on FB, do “like” the page: https://www.facebook.com/knowallsbox 🙂
Reblogged this on Its me…pleasure!.
Thanks a lot for the re-blog! 🙂
Really breathtakingly beautiful!!!! Love them!
Thanks a lot, Mary!!!! 🙂 🙂
Amazing photos!!! Wow!
Oh! Thank you Lauren!! Really appreciate it! And thanks for dropping by! 🙂
Excellent use of an airplane. If you enjoy photography, and given the opportunity, it’s a good idea to always ask for a window seat.
Thank you Alessandro! My standard request at the time of boarding is “Window seats away from the wings”! 🙂
So beautiful. Absolutely loved them all
Thanks a lot Swati Di! 🙂
I am loving these pictures, especially the last one 🙂 Great shots!
thanks a lot!! The timing of my flight had a big role to play…evening time! 🙂
Note to self: Make sure you fly our, or land in the evening. Beautiful!
Haha…all the best with THAT resolution! 😀
Haha!! It was worth a shot.
haha 😀
I love shooting photos out the window when I fly. I probably have tons of cloud-porn photos stuffed away at hard disks somewhere!
Would have loved to see the North Eastern parts of India – unfortunately I didn’t see it when I was there.
Well..hopefully you will dig out those photos and share it on your blog! And yes, North East India is awesome!
Amazing. These are so beautiful, but kind of made me a little uneasy. Felt like I was up there with you and I’m not a fan of flying. But with captures like these, a little flying is well worth it. 🙂
Thank you Elizabeth! Even I prefer travelling by train to flying…but, it helps save time…and occasionally the view takes your breath away! 🙂
Happy holidays to you and your loved ones! 🙂
Good for you. It has never occurred to me to take my camera out and not for the fear of flying. I love the pictures – WOW – sadly I will not be able to like you on fb – I am not over there 😉
Thank you Paula!! This post is testimony to the fact that timing is very important in photography..i booked the right flight, to get the sun going down! 🙂 And no worries about “liking” my FB page..I am sure you “like” me on WordPress!! I am like the Indian version of “Everybody loves Raymond”!! Can anyone possibly NOT like ME???? 😀
