A Walk around Darjeeling

Mall Road- During the tourist season, it is chock-a-block with people

After about 3 hours of our memorable toy train ride from Kurseong, we finally reached Darjeeling. Darjeeling is a favourite vacation location for Bengalis of Calcutta, wanting to get away from the hot and weather of the plains. Come summer vacations for schools, and the tourists flock to the town. Uncharacteristically for a Bengali I visited Darjeeling for the first time last year, and promptly fell in love with the place. It is one of those places, which has something to offer to everyone. If you are a foodie, there are some amazing food joints. If you want nice scenic beauty, Darjeeling offers one of the best views of the Kanchenjunga mountain. What’s there for me?

I love to just roam around the town and sit at Chowrasta( It’s the city square) which has been converted into a pedestrian zone. This post is the result of around 4-5 hours of walking around the town and while I was seating at the Chowrasta.

    • Thank you Sir!!! Darjeeling is a place where you can spend days just watching people go about their daily routine! And of course, your photography style has been an influence in my focus on people! πŸ™‚
