Its Raining Bokeh!

I just love the first rains of April here in Kolkata..Also known as Kal Baisakhi/ Nor’wester. These are usually dusty squalls followed by thunderstorms and heavy rains, which bring down the temperature. After the rain, the earth smells like heaven and there is much-needed respite from the heat. But, photographing rain has always been a pain for me. Now,few days back it started raining while I was driving back home. I was stuck at a traffic signal for a long time and I was getting bored. So I took out my camera and took some shots of the bokeh formed by the light refracting from the rain drops on the windscreen.

For the un-initiated, Bokeh, is the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light. Its not a typo!! 🙂

This is a shot of the drops of water on top of my car…the street light reflecting creates an interesting effect!
This shot is interesting because the street light on the right side was white coloured and the one on the left was a halogen..
