If you stay at the same place for a long time, you tend to take things for granted. Same has been my attitude towards Kolkata, my city. But, ever since I have been bitten by the shutterbug, I have made an effort to find out places within my city which can take your breath away. The city may have a lot of shortcomings, but still it is beautiful in my eyes!
Rabindra Sarobar or Dhakuria Lake is one of those places. An artificial lake, built-in the 1920s over an area of 192 acres (source: Wikipedia), it is in the southern part of the city, and is a favorite with morning and evening walkers, joggers, lovers and photographers!
I wanted to capture the sunset over the lake, but never managed to reach on time. Finally last weekend I reached on time, and here are some of the clicks

verrrry pretty! interesting that this is “your town”. reminds me somewhat of one of my favorite bloggers — yummygal — who has a descriptive post several times a week exploring her neighborhood … in (drum roll 4 M-fa-siss) New Jersey!
